Careful scanning captures the depth & detail of Doré's work and each illustration can be MAGNIFIED.
Every engraving may be viewed in several resolutions and is accompanied by descriptive text "intended to furnish all the information needed for the proper understanding of the persons or incidents portrayed." The plates in this book are selected from the 250 plate, 1866 edition of "The Holy Bible," which took Doré four years to complete.
The original volume was designed to "find its way into many homes and prove a useful companion to God's most holy Word."
