Aesop's fables are both humorous and entertaining. Though read as literature by children, they also strive to uplift the reader in moral virtue. Using fictitious characters, animals, and birds as narrators, they enlist indignation against the unworthy and dishonorable, and enlist sympathy for the pure and honorable. They teach to the improvement of human conduct.
WHAT A GREAT WAY TO UTILIZE A COMPUTER TO SUPPLEMENT THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN IN YOUR LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM.
Though originally written around 600 B.C., Aesop's fables still have profound meaning for us today. This mid-19th century edition of the classic contains 153 different fables and hundreds of wonderful engraved illustrations. In the preface the publisher states:
"The present is an attempt to place in the hands of youth such a collection of Fables as shall be auxiliary to the grand purpose of all education--the improvement of the mind."
