World War II MARTIN AIRCRAFT PUBLICITY PHOTOS

FIVE old black & white glossy 8 ˝ x 11" photographs of three planes that the GLENN L. MARTIN AIRCRAFT COMPANY, Baltimore, MD built during World War 2. The photos are as follows:

--First, TWO nice “in flight” photo of the B-26, U.S. Army designation for the Martin Marauder, a medium attack bomber. These photos are dated in the emulsion of the photos “8-21-1942.

--Second are TWO nice “in flight” & “skimming across water” photos of the MARS, a large flying boat designed and built by the Martin Company (Martin model number 170). Wingspan is 2/3 the length of a football field. The Mars was used as a sort of cargo ship. The photos are dated in the emulsion, 4-24-1943 & 10-18-1943.

--Finally, there is a photo of a “taking off / landing” Martin BALTIMORE model airplane. It was a mid-wing, all-metal light attack-bomber. It was an American designed and built bomber, known to the USAF as the A-30, but never used by the US forces. It was a development of the A-22 Maryland with a deeper fuselage. Emulsion has date of 11-18-1941.

All five photos have just a slight “curl.” All are originals to the wartime & in good condition as shown in scan.
