Nice, framable document 7 x 8" concerning FINES COLLECTED BY THE SHERIFF OF BALTIMORE CITY FROM FINES IMPOSED UPON PERSONS COVICTED OF KEEPING HOUSES OF ILL FAME (whorehouses). This handwritten document is sort of a receipt to the Mayor and Baltimore City Council for a total of $290.88 fines collected as the north eastern Dispensary’s proportion. Dated Baltimore, 5 August 1879 and written on just one side of the paper. Few stains and chips along left edge of white lined paper. Separated about 2" from left side of fold line, 1" from right . Small tear up from bottom. Otherwise good condition. Writing in dark brown ink with large initials? in red ink. QUITE FRAMABLE.
