OLD c1910 PHOTO BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVE WORKS STEAM ENGINE, PENNSYLVANIA STEEL COMPANY
Great old cardboard-mounted photograph c1910 of a BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVE which measures about 6 x 8” (the larger cardboard mount measures 10 x 12”). The number & builder’s plates on the front and side of this old steam locomotive are in clear focus and mostly quite readable with some magnification. The front number plate reads “NO. 7 BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVE WORKS PHILADELPHIA, PA USA.” The builder’s plate on the side of the engine reads: “BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVE WORKS PHILADELPHIA USA, BURNHAM WILLIAMS & CO., 27884 APRIL(?) 190?)” (date is not quite readable).

In the photo, 3 men sit on or in the engine & three stand in front. The names “Bleichert” and “Sam Miller” are written above 2 of the men in pencil on the mount. Looks like a heavy industry / factory is in the background of the photo. I’ve been told that this engine was built in 1906 for the Pennsylvania Steel Co., which is presumably the industry in the background. Photo has good contrast and is in good condition. There are a few spots & some wear around the edges of the dark cardboard mount (see scan). Fine old railroad photograph.

Price= $65.00
