OLD ICE CREAM STORE FRONT IN 1890s PHOTOGRAPH

FOUR serving girls pose in the doorway of this 1890s cardboard-mounted photograph 4 ½ x 8". They work in an ICE CREAM shop and there are two signs to that effect in the windows which also hold various candy & confections, as well as baked goods--donuts, cookies, bread loaves, etc. The four women wear large white aprons. Their store is next to the “White and Goddard Law Office”. At the lower right side of the photo a shadow can be seen which may be the person taking the photograph. On the back written in blue ink is the information: “Mamma extreme left. Aunt Ellen extreme right. Hattie Stevenson one of the others.” There is a ½" gouge out of the cardboard on the back but it hasn’t broken through the photograph. There are several creases in the photo--at the left side and in the upper right corner. Few other scrapes and spots (see scan) o/w pretty good condition.
