OLD 1916-17 PHOTOS VPI CORPS AT WILSON INAUGURAL PARADE
TWO old cardboard-mounted photographs (both measure 10 x 12”), as follows:
--Excellent view of the Virginia Tech Corp of Cadets marching through Washington DC at President Woodrow Wilson’s Inaugural Parade. On the reverse of the photo is written in ink: “V.P.I. Corps in line of March in Inaugural Parade at Washington D.C. March 5, 1917.” Printed on the reverse is also: “Photo Department The National Press Ass’n 614-9th St. N. W. Washington.” Photo shows cadets executing a turn in front of the camera. One chipped corner (see scan), otherwise quite good condition.
--Another photograph which according to ink writing on the reverse shows “Freshman Class 1916-1917. My position is back of the boy who is sitting down at the third position from the right side of the picture. Picture taken fall of 1916.” This photo also has one chipped corner on the cardboard mount, but is otherwise in quite good condition.
Scan shows both photos, one reverse side & enlarged detail.
