RARE 1857 POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT TABLE OF POSTAGES BROADSIDE

This is a rare item.
Issued to postmasters by the US Postal Department & DATED 20 April 1857, this LARGE Broadside printed on heavy paper of good rag content measures about 19 x 24” and was likely designed to hang in post offices, though this copy was apparently just folded up and stored away. It is titled “TABLE OF POSTAGES TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES” and issued while Aaron V. Brown was Postmaster General of the US. The broadside is loaded with detailed information about the nuances of shipping rates worldwide (Sandwich Islands, South Pacific, and a hugh list of alphabetized countries.)

Few stains, small holes at some fold lines, sheet appears to have originally been cut a little crooked at bottom, otherwise quite good condition. Blank back. Too big for scanner, so top and bottom sections are mostly shown in two bottom scan views. Top scan view is enlarged detail.
