OLD c1950s? N&W RR SAFETY CERTIFICATE OF MERIT-EMBOSSED
LARGE 11 ½" x 14 3/4" “NORFOLK AND WESTERN RAILWAY COMPANY CERTIFICATE OF MERIT” on heavy stock paper--almost parchment. It has a beautiful gold, red & black N&W symbol embossed in the paper. Beneath it reads: “Presented to ___ On behalf of officers and employees of the ___ for THE BEST SAFETY RECORD and in recognition of their meritorious achievement in prevention of personal injuries among employees for the year”. There is a line at the bottom for the President’s signature. This example is not filled in. It is somewhat dirty and stained (see scan) but o/w in good condition. Would exhibit quite well if framed.
