OLD REAL PHOTO POSTCARD OF DOLLS, CARRIAGES & 2 LITTLE GIRLS
WHO DIED
EXTREMELY POIGNANT photographic postcard of two
little girls wheeling BIG DOLLS in their DOLL CARRIAGES. The photo is a great one, but the
information on the postcard explains their brief lives. The card reads "THE KIDS". Laura Alice
Whiting, born Sept. 20, 1902 and Evelyn Virginia Whiting born July 1, 1900. Both little girls died
in 1911 which must have been just a few years after this card was made. Evelyn died in April,
1911 and Laura died in June, 1911. Perhaps they both died of the same disease. Photo is from
Edinburg, VA area. There appears to be one white scratch in the original emulsion of the photo.
There is black paper still glued to the back (see scan) where the photo was once pasted into a
photo album. Two bent corners on right side of the postcard.
Price= $75.00
