WALLACE NUTTING MARTHA & GEORGE WASHINGTON SILHOUETTES

A pair of unframed FAMOUS COUPLE silhouettes supposedly by Wallace Nutting c1900-1920. Each measures about 4 x 5”. These silhouettes are PRINTED on heavy cardboard—they are not the older-style silhouettes that were cut out and mounted on a backing. These are unmarked & undated, and would be quite attractive if framed. Slight age-staining around edges, o/w good condition.

ALSO, included is another printed silhouette of a Colonial era gentleman (about 4 x 6”) with “Copyright 1912 by Foster Bros Boston” beneath the picture. Apparently Wallace Nutting sold a limited assortment of silhouettes that were made by Foster Brothers of Boston, Massachusetts. “There is some speculation whether these silhouettes were originally drawn by Ernest John Donnelly, for Foster Brothers, with Nutting's approval.” Good condition as shown in scan.

Total of THREE (3) old silhouettes in this lot.

Price= $75.00
