INTRICATELY BRAIDED

Old Victorian hair necklace or watch chain (I am not really sure which this is) 11 ½" long. The work in the braiding of the hair is quite fine and it was probably made as memory or mourning jewelry of the young girl in the photograph which hangs from the nicely engraved brass piece in the middle of the necklace. This old sepia photo measures 11/16" and is mounted in a leaded and thick glass style locket which has the effect of MAGNIFYING the photo to anyone viewing it from the front. There is NO clasp present on the 1 1/4" links of chains on either end of this item but it is o/w in good condition (see scan).
