4 OLD STEREOVIEW CARDS OF POSED CHILDREN, 1871

FOUR nice old stereo cards, each depicting CHILDREN and measure about 3 ½ x 7” as follows:

--First, is a cute little girl dressed up in an old ladies cap & sitting in a rocking chair GRANDMOTHER’S LIKENESS NO. 305. Nice tinting. Back reads “STEREOSCOPIC TREASURES published by F. G. Weller, Littleton, NH, photographer of White Mountains Scenery, also views of Frost, Ice, Flowers, Sporting Scenes, and Miscellaneous Subjects.” Some of this original printed label is however covered by a paper label reading: “From James Cremer’s STEREOSCOPIC EMPORIUM, 18 South Eight St., Philadelphia. Family Groups taken for the Stereoscope, and Photography in all its Branches.” A nice flat mount card with ivory colored mount. Pretty good condition as shown in scan. NICE subject, & nice view.

--Second, is another stereo view card with the Weller mount (see above) but not the Cremer label, entitled A MIS STEP – No. 340. Nice tinting. Child is posed like she fell off bottom rung of the ladder and broke a batch of gathered eggs. Another nice flat mount card with ivory colored mount. Quite good condition as shown in scan. Dated 1871 on front of mount.

--Third, is another stereo view card with the Weller mount (see above) but not the Cremer label, entitled OUR NEW WASHERWOMAN – No. 331. Nice tinting. Child is dressed like a servant washing clothes with a washboard & tub. Flat mount card with ivory colored mount. Card is QUITE DIRTY but otherwise in OK condition (see scan). Also dated 1871 on front of mount.

--Fourth, is a stereo view card by Kilburn Brothers, Littleton, NH. Mount is worn & dirty with weird “clip” out of upper right side. Title is hard to read but probably reads FISHER’S PRIDE. Nice tinting. Some scrapes on left photo. See scan for exact condition. Flat mount card with yellow colored mount.

Cards all view 3D nicely in a stereoscope.
