1892 PHILADELPHIA PA 2nd REGIMENT ARMORY FUND LETTER
Old 1-page typescript letter 7 ¾ x 10 ¼” with nice letterhead, signed by O. C. Bosbyshell, Colonel of the Second Regiment of Infantry, National Guard of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Calls for citizens of Philadelphia to contribute $10 or more toward the construction of a new National Guard Armory on Broad Street above Diamond Street as the present Armory on Race Street is “too small for the military necessities of its ten companies.” I believe that O. C. Bosbyshell was also the Superintendent of the Mint of the United States at Philadelphia during this time.
Letter has some roughness around the edges and a chip out of the upper left corner (see scan), otherwise good condition.
