OLD 1906 PRINTED ASTROLOGICAL HOROSCOPE PROF LEO AMZI
NEAT old 3 page astrological horoscope with illustrated cover sheet and wraps 8 ˝ x 11”. Top cover sheet is yellow and has an illustration of the CHART OF LIFE ZODIAC SIGNS and the “OFFICIAL” seal of Professor Leo Amzi of Bridgeport, CT. This cover sheet is unfortunately torn all the way across but would be fairly easily to repair on the back with document tape or whatever. The Horoscope itself is two typed pages and states at the top that it was prepared for Mrs. N. D. Drexel of Washington, DC from Prof. Amzi of Bridgeport, Connecticut on September 20, 1906. It gives information concerning the sign of AQUARIUS, position of the planets, fortune-telling advice, etc. The final page (also yellow) is a rather interesting “editorial” by Professor Amzi. Headed at the top “BE SURE TO READ THIS” it starts off: “With years of labor on my shoulders and gray hairs upon my head, I intend to make this my last season in America, and expect to retire to the great observatory in India, there to end my days in the study of the Heavenly bodies.” This editorial goes on to attack all the “cheats and impostors” that have crept into the field of Horoscopes, and urges further use of his services (at additional cost). At bottom is the offer of “$500 REWARD IN GOLD paid to any one who can prove that I am not the Original and Genuine Professor Leo Amzi, or that I do not do as I agree to.” Good condition other than the torn cover sheet (see scan).
