OLD PHOTOS OF WOMEN 1860-1920 BEAUTY-TINT-DRESS STYLES+

INTERESTING group of various old photographs of American women in the 19th & early 20th century as follows:

--c1860s large oval albumen photo 7 x 9” of a woman wearing a cameo with a blind-stamp at the bottom for “C. L. Williams Photographic Gallery, 69 N. 4th Street, St. Louis, Missouri.” Photo is heavily retouched & trimmed to fit a frame, but otherwise in good condition (see scan).

--Old c1890s cardboard mounted photograph 4 ¼ x 6 ¼” of a woman posed in a studio dressed in a fancy outfit with a hairpiece or cap—perhaps she is even a DOMESTIC SERVANT. Photo by Dougherty Brothers of Springfield, Ohio. Condition as shown in scan.

--Old cabinet card photograph 4 ¼ x 6 ½” of a Beautiful Woman wearing a flowered hat, pearl necklace, & corsage. Cabinet card is by KEYN of Omaha, Nebraska, and is in great condition (see scan).

--Horizontal cabinet card photograph, a little oversize, of an older woman with delicate pink tinting on her dress. The photo by Ralph Mineart, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Quite artistic! On the back is written: “To Aunt Kate with much love from Nellie, January 25, 1687. A bit of damage in upper left corner of photo (see scan), otherwise good condition.

--Old c1890s cardboard mounted photograph 5 x 6 ½” of a woman holding a white parasol and wearing a strange white hat. No photographer noted on mount. Good condition as shown in scan.

--Real photo postcard c1915 of a smartly dressed woman. Beautiful BLUE TINTED DRESS & white hat. The post card back is mostly obscured by old paper stuck to the back from it having sometime been removed from an old scrapbook. Still the photographer’s name FLETT, 1517 BOARDWALK, ATLANTIC CITY, NJ can just be made out at top. Besides the back, there is a small ½” tear along the bottom edge left of her feet. Otherwise the photo is in quite good condition as shown in scan.

--Another Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) c1920s of a smiling woman dressed in what appears to be an “off the shoulder” style of BATHING SUIT with matching cap. Color tinting. Four corners are clipped & the back has also been damaged by having once been removed from an old scrapbook. Otherwise good condition as shown in scan.

--An old c1920s paper snapshot 3 ¼ x 5 ½” of a woman dressed in a sort of flapper dress with headband, necklace, etc.

A nice group of old photos for the collector or dealer.
