OLD HANDMADE LEATHER FOLK ART TINTYPE FRAME c1880
Oval
leather frame 4 ½ x 5 1/4" handmade to house a little larger than 1/6
plate tintype. Nice example of American
folk art with scalloped embossing around the photograph. Tintype depicts a young gent posing with his
arm resting on a cloth-covered table.
Some minor wear to the leather frame & bends in the surface of the
tintype (see scan). Strip of leather
glued on the back for hanging on a wall.
Scan shows front and back.
